This street fair not only unites the Normal Heights community but it also units all the different communities and invite people of all cultures to come to it. Adams Street fair is where big clusters of businesses, vendors, performers, musicians, activists, and the public come together to have fun and to share music and culture.
This event is mainly located on Adams Ave. and a few side streets. Adams Street fair goes for about 7-8 blocks and closes vehicle access for the whole weekend. During this event there are dozens of vendors and stores that get involved with this event.
There is so much good food to try from Asian, Pizza, Corn, Hamburgers, Sausages, chocolate covered strawberries and a lot more. As for vendors and shops there are so much merchandise being sold from jewelry, clothing, sun glasses, belts, toys, and other interesting things.
The major commotion at Adams Street fair is the free music! During this street fair so many live musicians and performers play free to the public. The music genres played at the Street Fair include country, rock, ska, and much more. This best thing is that the music is free to listen to and there are more than 4 stages to go to.
If you have a family and kids Adams Street fair also has a carnival and rides for the children. In the carnival you can win prizes for the kids, and they can go on the rides. This Street fair also has many political booths as well if you want to support the cause you care about. Both the democrats and Republicans have different booths, and some booths support a certain cause. However no matter whom you are there is something that everyone will like when they go to Adams Street Fair.
This street fair is sponsored by Normal Heights Community Center, and has been putting the fair on for several years. This year Adams Street Fair is going to be on Saturday Sept. 29th, and Sunday Sept. 30th. On Saturday the Street fair is from 10 am to 9 pm, and on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.This street fair is a great place for families, friends, and different cultures to come together and enjoy some great music from local bands, fun, and food.
