Adams Water-Based Flea & Tick Mist is not new to the market, just new to our family. Adams is manufactured by Farnam, which has been in business for over 50 years.
Although we had used other products we were usually disappointed with the results. Adams Water-Based Flea & Tick Mist can be used on puppies, kittens, cats and dogs. However, under 12 weeks old it is not recommended that this product be used.
When a pet has an allergy, sensitive skin or assorted ailments that some dogs do have, Adams may be the best choice. If you live in an area that seems to have ticks and fleas always ready to ride home with your pet, Adams may help you prevent this. Yes, there are topical products that can be used once a month. However, some pets are not able to tolerate these.
This product is water-based, so there is no residue to encourage dirt to stick to your dog's coat, which is an important issue. Also, because Adams Water-Based Flea & Tick Mist is water based there is less concern about the product staining carpets or furniture.
As with all such products, the label contains a warning that it is harmful if swallowed. Also, it should not be inhaled, or used near food. Washing your hands with soap and water after each use is recommended.
Instructions for proper use listed on the package states:
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. USE ONLY IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA.
DOGS, PUPPIES, CATS, KITTENS: (We wear gloves to do this). Cover animal's eyes with hand and with a firm, fast stroke to get a proper spray mist, spray head, ears and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose and eyes. Next, spray neck, middle and hindquarters, finishing legs last.
The instructions go on to say the spray should be left on the pet for 5 minutes. At that time any fleas or ticks that were on your pet can easily be removed by brushing.
Adams Flea & Tick Mist has a very pleasant scent. We feel this product is a great value, and gives us an option many may want for their pets.
