Add Green Tea to Your New Year's Diet Plan

The No. 1 New Year's resolution most people is to go on a diet to lose some weight or to improve their health. There are many diets to choose from: Some are good, while others are downright unhealthy. The best way to go on a diet is to simply switch out some of foods you are currently eating with better food choices. Add a little exercise and you will be on your way to taking off a few pounds over the long haul.

You do not have to cut down the quantity of food you eat. Instead, you should look to improve the quality of the foods you eat. For example, try switching out the morning coffee with cup of green tea. Coffee may not be necessarily bad for you, and it may not be the cause of your increased weight. But, the choice to drink green tea over coffee will improve your overall health, and help in your dieting endeavors.

Studies have shown that there are number of health benefits to drinking green tea over coffee or black teas. Green tea helps reduce stress, reduces stress, and increases your metabolism. All three of these are factors to consider when trying out a new diet. As a dieter, you want to cut stress, improve digestion, and increase your metabolism. There are some studies that show that green tea protects your body from cancer.

One of the leading cause of weight gain in adults is stress. As people get more stressed out, they are more likely to turn to fatty or sugary foods. A weight loss plan should include a plan to help alleviate some of the stress from your life. Settle down with a decent cup of green tea to start your day off right with some quiet meditation.

Green tea has been shown to contain a chemical compound that affects brain activity. This compound is called theanine, which is a derivative of an amino acid. This substance is able to improve cognition and mood of the brain, much like caffeine. So, with a cup of green tea in the morning, you do not really lose the physical boost that get from the caffeine in coffee.

Green tea contains multiple substances that help your digestive system. Vitamin B complex helps your digestive tract absorb carbohydrates. Several chemical substances, like Poly-phenols catechins and Poly-phenols. These aid the body in the following process: lowered inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, lowered cholesterol absorption, and better regulation of blood sugars. It is most beneficial to drink tea just with or just after having a meal for realize these effects.

If you are planning to go on a diet as a part of your New Year's resolution, a small step can be switching out the morning cup of coffee with green tea.
