Add More Anti-Aging Vitamin D to Your Diet!

Natural Sources of Vitamin D

Sarah Rachel
Vitamin D is such an essential vitamin for our overall health and wellness. Vitamin D works with calcium and other vitamins to strengthen our bones and teeth. In addition, vitamin D provides immune support and helps the body to age at a much slower pace. Aging is a major for most people because as we age we become more susceptible to heart disease and cancer. The power of vitamin D should not be underestimated. There are many wonderful natural sources of vitamin D right under your nose.

Cod Liver Oil

Cod liver oil is excellent source of vitamin D and other omega 3 fatty acids. This is why it is so important to take cod liver supplements in the winter time. In the winter months our body doesn't get as much vitamin D from the sun so taking a supplement of cod liver oil will help to replenish your body with vitamin D. To get adequate levels of vitamin D you need to take 1000 mg of cod liver oil capsules or 1 tablespoon of the oil. Cod liver oil does need to be refrigerated to maintain freshness.

Sunshine

Another great source of vitamin D is sunshine. Our body can absorb vitamin D directly from 20 min or more of sunshine per day. Of course you don't want to bake in the sun and increase your risk of skin cancer.

Tuna

Tuna is another excellent source of vitamin D. Canned tuna can be added to various meals such as a casserole, sandwiches, or even eaten plain out of the can.

Raw Milk

Raw milk is also a suburb source of vitamin D. Raw milk produced by a clean local dairy is perfectly safe and healthy and safe for consumption. When milk is heated up and pasteurized it actually loses its nutritional value because all of the enzymes, vitamins and white blood cells are killed, and only some of these vitamins are added back into the milk in small doses. Raw milk is more expensive, but drinking raw milk is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Eggs

Eggs are another wonderful source of vitamin D. Eggs also contains other nourishing vitamins such as vitamin A, biotin, and omega 3 fatty acids. Having eggs every day for breakfast is a great way to get your daily dose of much needed vitamins. Lightly scramble your eggs, or hard boil them. Eggs should never be eaten raw because of the risk of salmonella food poisoning.
