Adderall and weight loss

Adderall has recently become a drug that is commonly used for weight loss. The reasoning behind this is that for one, the drug is easily obtainable, and two, the drug lowers your appetite. Aderall was originally intended for such use, and other uses of this drug were later discovered. Adderall used for weight loss is dangerous as many users for this purpose take Adderall much too frequently and at too high doses, amplifying the side affects. It is best to consult your doctor if you plan on taking Adderall for the purpose of weight loss.

Alternatives

Until very recently, the closest clone of Adderall was dextroamphetamine sulfate (Dexedrine) which was available as Dexedrine ER (extended realease). Adderall XR (extended realease) does not have much clones as it is under patent in the United States. The plain Aderall does have a generic form for sale, known as mixed amphetamine salts and also d-aphetamine salt combo for about one third the price of plain adderall. Vyvanse is a drug that is designed to enter and exit the body efficiently and is similar to adderall. This form is not as biologically active as Aderall. Vyvanse actually costs about 40% more than Adderall.
