Adding Luxury to Everyday Life

Not all of us can afford a weekly massage or a deluxe home spa complete with piped in music. However, there are a few things you can do to add just a little bit of luxury to your everyday life. With these tips, hopefully everyday will be a little bit more enjoyable and luxurious.

1. Pimp out your bed.

Your bed is the last thing you experience at night and the first thing you experience in the morning. It's nice to start and end the day on high note. So, buy some high thread count sheets. My favorite is sateen sheets. However, there are also microfiber and jersey sheets that are very comfortable. If you can afford it, silk sheets make for topnotch enjoyment. Invest in a very comfortable mattress, or if you'd like to minimize your cost, get a basic mattress and add a very think feather or fiber bed. Even the most basic mattress will feel wonderful with a big fluffy feather bed atop it. To add to the plushness of your bed, get super comfortable blankets and plenty of good pillows.

2. Scent yourself.

Buy a bottle of your favorite perfume or cologne and wear it everyday. Just smelling great can really boost your confidence and poise. A good perfume doesn't have to cost hundreds of dollars either. Your local grocery store will often group popular perfumes in packages so you get a little bottle of several scents. It's a great way to smell fantastic for a long time on just a little bit of money.

3. Get a fancy showerhead.

There's nothing like feeling your showering under a waterfall or in a torrential downpour. Fancy showerheads don't have to be expensive either. Once again your local grocery or hardware store will likely have something to fit your budget and your shower. Buy as fancy as you'd like and really enjoy your daily shower.

4. One really nice kitchen item.

I have a gorgeous ceramic teapot and set of china cups. Every morning when I have my tea I can't help but feel slightly queenish. It can be something as simple as having one favorite bowl that you eat your morning cereal out of. A friend of mine has very nice blender that she makes smoothies in every morning. It's the little things that can really add to your day.

5. Pretty paint.

Having nicely painted rooms can also make the difference between drab and soothing. The right paint color can lift your spirits in the morning and soothe you gently to sleep at night. With the right paint choices you can also up your houses resale value. Paint is cheap so pick your favorite color and use a Saturday to really brighten your home.
