Step 1 - Open your Dreamweaver program.
Step 2 - Open the page that you want to add the sound to or if you just want to test it, open a blank page. Save the page as test.html if you are using a blank page.
Step 3 - Highlight over a link that you want to add sound to. If you are using a blank page, create a link and highlight over it. To easily create a link, simply type # in the link field. That will give it the link effect.
Step 4 - With your link highlighted go to the top of your Dreamweaver window and click Window > Behaviors. This will bring up your Behaviors Panel.
Step 5 - In the Behaviors Panel click the Plus Sign. When the box drops down click Play Sound.
Step 6 - A dialog box will pop up. In this box you will click Browse to locate what sound you want to play. Locate the file that you chose at the beginning and click OK.
Step 7 - Look in your Behaviors Panel and Click on where it says ON Click. When the box drops down click On Mouse Over. That will tell it to play when you mouse over the link.
Step 8 - Got to the top of your Dreamweaver window and click File > Save, to save your document.
Step 9 - Go to the top of your Dreamweaver Window and click File > Preview in Browser or click F12 to view it in a Browser.
And there you have it.. You have now added sound to your link. To change the wav file that you used, simply double click in the Behaviors Panel on Play Sound and you can browse to locate another file. You must use a wav file and you must save the wav file in the folder that your document is saved in. If you don't it will not work. You can change the mouse effect to anything you like by clicking on the On Mouse Over effect in the behaviors panel in Dreamweaver. You can add this effect in Dreamweaver MX and Dreamweaver 8.
