When cleaning around the house, we tend to focus on items that are visible instead of the areas we would less expect to see dirt or even germs. But don't let your eyes fool you, most of the time; what's not visible can be even more surprising. So, when you're doing your chores around the house, be sure to include these items on your "To Clean List" and you'll be glad you did.
Light Bulbs
Have you ever thought about dust being on your light bulbs? Well, take a look because you will be surprised at how much dust will accumulate on your light bulbs throughout your home. Just wipe off the dust with a dry rag or even a wet rag if the dust seems to be immovable. Be sure to twist the light bulb out of the socket if you do decide to use a wet rag. You will see a big difference in the brightness after you clean it.
Telephones
You can wipe down your telephones using alcohol, that way even germs that are brought about by various people using your home phone can be eliminated. The smell of your phone will be amazing as well. Also, try cleaning between the numbers and other buttons with a cotton swab.
Toothbrushes
It is a fact that after brushing your teeth, there are still some germs stuck to the toothbrush and before every use, this should be washed out. But the best way to rid your toothbrush from germs is to use a germicidal, commonly known as Hydrogen Peroxide. Leaving your toothbrush soaking in the 3% solution will disinfect your toothbrushes.
Showerheads
This is the most common item that probably has never been cleaned in a household. Taking a shower is supposed to wash out all your bodily germs, but some studies have shown that a showerhead may contain germs, if not cleaned, which may cause lung infections and other fungi and bacteria. Bet you never thought of cleaning your showerhead, but make it a point to do so the next time you are cleaning.
Beneath the Refrigerator and Stove
When we cook, oil tends to pop, and food can jump out of the pan. That is why grease, food and dust will accumulate under your stove. The same goes for your refrigerator.
These are just some of the areas that need to be cleaned you may not think about. Sit down in each room and just ponder on the different things. I am sure you will find a ton of things that need cleaning that you may have not thought about otherwise.
