Depression can be extremely difficult on its own, but if you have ADHD on top of it, then it can be even more painful. Depression makes you have thoughts of sadness, sometimes even thoughts of killing oneself. It's never easy to even admit that you have depression, but to admit to wanting help for it could be even harder.
More than 17 million Americans are having trouble dealing with depression and all that comes with it. Depression brings a sense of loneliness and can be a painful experience. One you would not want to endure again. It is estimated that at least 2.7 times more adults who have ADHD either have or are prone to depression. More commonly known for its powerful slung in mood disorders is Dysthymia. Dysthymia is a chronic form of depression and is characterized by moods that are very low constantly; however it is not as bad as other forms of depression.
Dysthymia is 7.5 times more common the all the other depression disorders also.
Once acknowledging and being diagnosed with a mental disorder and depression. You can begin medication for both and even psychotherapy to help with your depression. Some medicines that might help you with your depression are Prozac, Paxil, Strattera and Effexor. I am not a doctor but I would highly recommend sampling each one before getting on a strict regimen with antidepressants.
Don't forget about herbal remedies. These can be the best thing for you, as it is all natural. Noni(Morinda) and Schisandra are two very powerful natural antidepressants. Kava Kava is helpful to those suffering from an aggravated anxiety disorder that is brought on by depression. Rhodiola is also helpful when using herbal remedies because it improves mood and fights depressive disorders but normalizing both serotonin and dopamine levels. Natural remedies sometimes work the best because there are no side effects. With man-made prescriptions drugs there is a large amount of side effects, some even deadly to your health.
Depression is a severe disorder that hurts a lot more then people think. It's hard to breathe sometimes because you feel as though you are suffocating. You feel as though someone let all the happiness out of your life, much like the dementors in Harry Potter. Depression is hard; it can be hard on everyone not just the one going through it.
