Adidas Boston Super Jogging Shoes

The jogging shoe named the 'Adidas Boston Super,' which is a reference to the shoe's design paying homage to the Boston marathon, is a stylish shoe with utilitarian appeal. But because it is a retro shoe, and one of Adidas' best looking retro shoes at that, it somewhat lacks the appeal of modern jogging shoes in solid design and overall support.

The best aspect of a vintage (retro) shoe needs to be the colorway, which is what the Boston Super relies upon. Over the past few years and, with surely more years to come (Adidas has re-released the Boston Super a couple of times)--i.e., throughout it's legacy-- the Boston Super's design remains a staple. It resembles a cross between the Adidas ZX model and the Adidas Country model, which looks as if it is toned down in the technology department and adopted a more casual, durable look.

And it feels just as durable as it looks. The Adidas Boston Super has a sueded toe and heel, with the rest of the shoe constructed with canvas. Although the suede won't last long, the rest of the shoe will. Although a more vintage pair of Adidas Boston Super shoes (and therefore more retro right?) will begin to visibly crack along the heel (which many of the later ZXZ models masked with a checkered sketching along the sides of the shoes' heels) the Adidas Boston Super shoes will still hold their ground with plenty of tread.

The Adidas Boston Super is also widely available which, in contrast to many other Adidas Originals releases, is a relief. They are currently on sale via Urban Outfitters-- which kind of stinks because Urban Outfitters is so lousy-- but they're on sale. You might even find them at urbn.com or, if you really want a deal they are available on eBay.com (in average sizes).

Regardless of whether you're rocking the vintage Adidas Boston Super with a pair of retro socks on a track, or if you're rocking them with a pair of jeans at a party, the shoes are definately worth having. They will definately grow on you and, who knows, you might even be complimented by a stranger. These are great, stylish shoes that will last and, best of all, they're under $100 brand new. The Adidas Boston Super might even inspire you to run a marathon!
