Many Americans are considered overweight or obese. As a result, there are several companies that make a profit marketing diet products that simply don't work. Before wasting your money, consider if a prescription diet aide could be of benefit. Typically, they are more expensive than the over the counter medications but this is an exception, not the rule. Adipex, is one of the more widely known weight loss aides that gets results. If you are only looking to lose a few pounds, this is probably not for you. However, for those that are actually overweight or obese it may be worth consideration. Just keep in mind that there are pros and cons to using a prescription diet aide.

Adipex, also referred to as speed by many, literally gets you pumped up and decreases the appetite. Although Adipex should never be obtained without first consulting your physician, there is a growing trend of acquiring this medication online. There are also clinics that specialize in weight loss that may prescribe, but there is criteria that must be met. If the patient fails to lose 3 to 4 pounds monthly, the clinic may no longer see the patient. Your regular physician can give the prescription as well. While taking adipex, it is recommended that you visit a physician, nurse, or practitioner once every thirty days or so anyway.

The side effects may vary from person to person and can be mild or severe. This is why you should be under the care of a medical professional. Adipex may cause rapid heart beat, nervousness, and make you jittery. That's only to name a few. Not everyone taking the weight loss supplement will experience all of the symptoms, they may not have any at all. Some side effects may be severe enough to cause death. Those suffering from heart problems should not take Adipex.

The benefits from taking Adipex, differ as well. Of course, weight loss being the greatest. Adipex gives you energy to exercise and helps to tame your hunger. Thus, making it easier to not over eat and stay on track. However, Adipex is not for long term use. The idea is to get yourself moving and eating healthier. After you reach a healthy weight, the medication is no longer necessary.

Who should consider taking this diet supplement? Those who are more than a couple of pounds overweight, are generally healthy otherwise, and are willing to make a lifestyle change. Just remember, Adipex affects patient differently and your experience may not be the same as those described. If weight loss is something you are serious about and think that this could be for you, talk to your doctor first.
