The Big Mouse Inn has lots of activities for both children and adults including concerts, painting classes, barbecues, murder mystery nights, folk singers, a kid friendly menu and they are right on the lake so there are lots of water related activities. These include kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The wetland woods have lots of bird watching activities including loons. There is an extensive entertainment list for both kid and adult activities.
There is a special room for families to stay in called the Lakeview Room that has of course, great views of the Big Moose Lake and you can listen to the loons. There is a queen size bed and a TV and DVD and private bath. It is good for families because it can adjoin with another room of the Inn while still having privacy for adults. The second hotel that is kid friendly is Comfort Suites Lake George. Here the kids love the indoor pool because it has a water slide. there is a free breakfast each morning and they are near by several Adirondack Park kid favorites such as WaterSlide World and Great Escape and other events and fishing. It is an ideal hotel for parents with young children as the rooms have pull out couches, and for parents with older tween and teenage children as adjoining rooms are available. There is a game room and they are within walking distance to the Outlet Center. Rooms are large enough for a family with multiple children and the rooms have a mini refrigerator to keep extra drinks and snacks for kids. It is located on Route 9 in Lake George.
A third place to Stay near Adirondack Park that is kid friendly is The Quality Inn in Lake George. They are within walking distance to the Million Dollar beach, steam boats and restaurants. They have a pool that parents can sit in the courtyard and the kids can swim. There is a free breakfast. The hotel itself is very clean. Rates start at $133 a night in season.
A fourth place to stay near Adirondack Park is The Oasis Motel. This is small cabins are geared towards families but hey have several hotel amenities including breakfast and internet. There is pool, they are close to the beach, there is a basketball court, they sell discount tickets to local events. Rates are from $65 to $100 a night. Visit their website for more details.
