Double-click on the "acrobat51.exe" file and follow the installation steps.
To open a .pdf file go to "File" on the toolbar and then choose "Open." Find the .pdf file you would like to view and then double-click on the file.
The work area in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1 can be found on the right side of your screen. The left side includes a navigation pane so you can skip quickly through the document pages. Toolbars at the top of the application screen give you control over PDF actions such as Zoom, Snapshot and Select.

Click the document border tab located on the left side of the screen in order to toggle the navigation pane. Choose a palate from the Window menu and left-click on the palate you would like to toggle in order to see various palates-palates may be shown in the navigation pane or even as a floating window.
Click on the tool or press the letter key shown in the tool's "tip" to select a tool in the toolbar. Note that Tool Tips are displayed by allowing your mouse pointer to hover over each tool.

The bookmark function also allows you to navigate quickly. Activate the bookmark function by browsing to Window on the toolbar, and then selecting "Bookmarks". This will open the bookmark palate.
