It has great features, such as voice transcription. Voice transcription is when the software determines what you are saying in a clip and turns it into text. The text is then synced up with the video, and when you click on a word, the software brings you to that word in the video clip. This is a new feature to Adobe Premiere, and works exceptionally well if you speak clearly.
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 also includes many different programs that go with it. There is Adobe Encore, which lets you burn Blu-Ray discs. There is Adobe Media Encoder, which lets you export the video in many different forms onto your computer. It works outside of Adobe Premiere, so you can still work on your project while you are exporting it. The Media Encoder includes thousands of different file types and codecs, even some that are used by cell phones.
Though the software does have drawbacks, such as slow rendering, but the outcome is worth it. Videos you make using Adobe Premiere look extremely professional.
Adobe Premiere is available for both PCs and Macs. You have to have at least 2GB of RAM to have the program run at its full potential. I also suggest a dedicated graphics card. On my computer, which has Windows Vista, the preview of the video skips, which makes it exceedingly difficult to edit. On my laptop, which has Mac OSX Snow Leopard bootcamped with Windows XP, the software runs quite well.
The software is great if you like to edit videos, but f you are just a beginner, a less expensive editing software will be better for you, considering Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 costs more than $700.
I would rate this software a 9 out of 10, only because it doesn't work well on my Windows Vista Desktop. If it didn't skip on Vista, I would give it a 10 out of 10.
