Adopt the Right Mind Set to Stop Smoking

You will stop smoking only if you want to.Lets look at some ways to adopt methods to stop smoking.

Psychological Barriers:

Somking provides feeling of pleasure,relaxing and is something like a ritual that smokers will enjoy.To give up you need to free from this psychological dependancy.Here are some ways to set your mind.

1.)Create a mental image of yourself as a non smoker with clear radiant skin and able to breathe properly again and think about yourself filled with energy and vitality.

2.) Think of the money you will save if you quit smoking and the way you use the money for other healthier purposes.

3.)If you are willing to stop tell your relatives,friends and family members that you will stop somking so that even if you are tempted to smoke again you will feel shy because you have already told to your people.

4.)When you stop smoking keep your day active in order to take your mind of smoking.Do regular excercises or try for sports so that they make you feel better.Excercise relieves stress and boost energy levels so that it will keep your mind of smoking.

5.)If you cant stop suddenly dont beat yourself and dont be dissapointed.It will take some time to get used with.Embark on a detox diet for the same reasons as above - It makes you feel better.

6.)Try cutting down for a week or two, to get your mind focused on the fact that you can live without cigarettes for periods of time.

These above will make your mind set to give up smoking.

Physical barrieres:

The physical dependence is caused by the addictive nature of nicotine contained in cigarettes.Due to nicotine smokers feel stressed,irritable,anxious and nauseous.Normally you can overcome this with will power.To double your chance of success you can useNicotine Replacement products (NRT) to help you.You can have gum,inhalers,puffers etc as a choice in these products.Nicotine is generally good for health but if it becomes as an addiction it creates problems.To stop smoking is a lifestyle change and you need to make the change all on your own, you decided to be a smoker and you can decide not to.
