Have you ever had a restaurant where once you move away you crave it like mad and when you go back to where it is located you have to eat there every single time? Adornetto's Pizzeria in Zanesville, Ohio, which is between Columbus, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia off of interstate I-70, is that restaurant for me. Their tagline is 'the pizza people come home for' and they are not lying! And if their pizza is the silver medal that is only because their Italian dressing for their salads takes the gold.

It may seem rather silly to talk to affectionately about a restaurant and it's food, but when you cannot find anything like it at any other restaurant then that makes it different. Adornetto's is not the only Italian restaurant in the area, but it is definitely the most popular and with good reason. Adornetto's offers up more than just their signature pizza as they also have a full menu typical of an Italian restaurant.

The first thing you will notice upon entering Adornetto's is the Tuscan atmosphere in the dining room. There is a tree with white lights in it in the center of the room. And around the dining room are Tuscan style columns and the floors are a light hardwood.

Adornetto's Pizzeria has been a staple in the Zanesville community since 1958 and it is still family owned and operated. It seems like any time you visit the restaurant there is a waiting list even though the place seats 200. You can also get your food to go at the carry out window. The restaurant was recently named one of the top 100 pizzerias in the United States.

You will not see any signs from interstate 70 pointing you to Adornetto's but any of the locals can point you in the right direction to Maple Avenue for some great food.
