Adrenal Fatigue and Infertility

The Connection Between Stress and the Inability to Become Pregnant

The body is equipped with two vital structures that reside just above the kidneys - the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are the "stress glands" of the body, allowing the body to respond adequately to any stress that it encounters. When any stress is encountered, the adrenal glands release adrenalin (epinephrine and norepinephrine) to put the body into a "fight or flight" response.

In addition to manufacturing adrenalin for stress response, the adrenals also manufacture aldosterone (a hormone for regulating salt levels in the body), cortisol (a stress hormone for regulating sugar levels in the body), and androgens (secondary sex hormones). The adrenals are busy factories that can easily become fatigued. When they fatigue, many health conditions can occur.

To explain, consider the following:
Stress is a double-edged sword; it is necessary for building to encounter in order to build strength against resistance but in high quantities can cause destructive consequences. A tree is strengthened by withstanding wind, but will fall over if it encounters too high of winds for which it is not prepared. Similarly, our bodies react the same way to stress. When stressors become unbearable, the body exits out of a "thrival" mode and enters into "survival" mode. At this stage, the body will willingly sacrifice any functionality to remain alive. The adrenal glands are primary in this response, for if the adrenals do not respond to the body's stressors, the body will die. The body, not wanting to die, will allow the adrenal glands to "rob Peter to pay Paul". Thus, the adrenal glands utilize nutrients from the ovaries, the testes, the thyroid, the ligaments, and the digestive tract that are vital to other functions. The adrenals, in essence, begin to eat the body alive!

The symptoms of adrenal fatigue include:

  • Low energy
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Moodiness
  • Depression / Anxiety
  • Weight gain
  • Hormone Imbalances
  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Difficulty staying asleep
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Low libido
  • Infertility
  • and more!
So, why then would a women have difficulty getting pregnant if the adrenal glands were fatigued?!? Well, by definition, a baby is at least a "9 month parasite". I mean this in all the kindness of my heart as I love newborns and have my own wonderful children, but the mother must agree to an elective parasite for 9 months (or longer if she breastfeeds). Would a body under a lot of stresses and in "survival" mode take on an elective 9 month parasite? NO! The female body willingly shuts down the reproductive system to save her from further dis-ease, disease, and death.

If you are a woman that is struggling with infertility issues and have symptoms of adrenal fatigue - whether mild, moderate, or severe - it is vital to have the adrenal glands treated naturally with nutrition, homeopathy, neurolymphatic therapy, and meridian therapy. After having the adrenal glands treated properly and allowing the body some time for it to heal all associated structures that were "under attack" by the adrenals, the body will soon be ready to take on the responsibility of creating a precious new life.

As cute as they are, by definition, a baby inside of a mother is a "parasite". A woman, incapable of supporting an elective 9-month parasite, will have difficulty getting pregnant or will have a series of multiple miscarriages.
