Adrienne Bailon Nude Photos Latest Disney Internet Scandal

Adrienne Bailon, the beautiful Chanel of Disney's "The Cheetah Girls," has joined the growing list of young Disney starlets that can't keep from being photographed nude and saving a digital image of themselves - and then find themselves all over the internet in a nude photo scandal. Because nothing says wholesome like Disney entertainment and all those nude photos or partially nude photos of their young stars that keep "slipping" onto the internet. Miley Cyrus, star of "Hannah Montana," has been showing her barely clad tween body off on her MySpace page for years. Then Vanessa Hudgens, the star of Disney's mega-franchise "High School Musical" movies, saw her naked body displayed via the internet. Now, it's Cheetah Girls Adrienne Bailon.

Bailon - according to TMZ, who broke the story Saturday, November 8 - left her laptop unattended at JFK airport in October and had it hijacked. Later that day, an anonymous caller asked for $1000 to return the computer. The exchange was made, but when Adrienne Bailon accessed her files, some partially nude photos of herself, taken as a birthday present for her boyfriend, Robert Kardashian, were missing.

Those missing partially nude photos have been shhopped out on the internet. Adrienne Bailon has retained a lawyer and has issued an apology for the photos (a la Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens): "The photos that have surfaced of Adrienne Bailon were stolen from her laptop over a week ago at an airport in NY and sent to several media outlets. These photos were taken in private. Adrienne will be pursuing legal action against the person or persons sending these private photos out.

"Adrienne is deeply sorry for any pain this may have caused to her fans."

These types of incidents only emphasize the necessity of practicing extreme discretion and computer security, the first rule being that, if one does not wish an embarrassing or compromising image of oneself making the rounds of the internet, then one should not file an embarrassing or compromising image of oneself in digital memory. Better yet, one should not take a photo that might come back to haunt oneself. And if one does have such a photo, do not copy or upload it into a personal computer or onto a social network site.

Because once that photo hits the internet, it is accessible to just about anyone. Personal photos of oneself stored in files on personal computers are at risk of being hacked from just about anywhere in the world. Laptops can be stolen and information removed from them, as was the case with Adrienne Bailon.

Miley Cyrus, 16, has had several photo scandals in the past couple years. Pictures of the tween star flashing her bra and in various poses in her underwear began appearing when she was 14 years old. There was also an incident where her iPhone was hacked and wet t-shirt photos were leaked online. The star of "Hannah Montana" has had several risqué photos of herself posted on her MySpace page, causing controversy over her suitability as a role model for young girls.

Even worse, Vanessa Hudgens' nude photos of herself that were mistakenly sent to someone other than who they were intended for - her boyfriend, Zac Efron - became the center of a raging controversy and nearly cost her her starring role in Disney's "High School Musical 3," which is currently out in theatres (having grossed nearly $76 million in three weeks). Hudgens was 19 at the time and took the photos herself using a mirror.

Still, regardless of the controversy that always ensues when risque or nude photos of a celebrity begin to circulate, the celebrity always seems to benefit from the notoriety. There is always the blow-up, the apologies, the scandal, the threats, and the media frenzy to cover the story and get access to the photos. But the celebrity rarely finds their career detrimentally affected, if ever. Which prompts the cynical question: How much of this is orchestrated career planning?
