It seems like young female stars are coming out with new nude photos or sex tapes every week now. We've heard of it from Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and of course Vanessa Hudgens. There seem to be three common public reactions to such media revelations. There are those who are disappointed or disgusted, those who just want to see young stars naked, and those who range from indifferent to supportive. I would tend to be in the last group. Let's face it-- part of being a young woman is exploring your sexuality and doing things that are a little more risqué, and there isn't anything really wrong with that. I don't agree with those who may judge the girls quickly and call them sluts, or anything to that negative effect.

Sometimes I am even sympathetic, because of the perceived notion that the girls may have damaged their careers (especially squeaky-clean Disney careers) by letting information slip out that they are in fact sexual beings... but then I think, wasn't this very likely just a conscious career choice all along? One has to wonder if the seemingly careless actions of foolish (famous) young girls are actually plotted publicity stunts. A native New Yorker herself, I wonder how Adrienne managed to let the laptop get away from her in the airport in the first place-- especially considering the sensitive material easily found within? Are Disney and other actresses eager to prove themselves as women, or perhaps escape professional contracts which keep them bound in the same roles for the remainder of their young lives? When/if they pretend to "sue", does it not stir up the scandal further, thus increasing interest and any potential profit they may stand to make if they are actually part of the leak themselves? I'm not saying this is always the case or that it is the case now, but it's just something to ponder.
