Over the past few years, many Adsense alternatives have sprung up. Some are rapidly becoming popular, such as Adbrite and Chikita, but there are plenty more options in this arena. In fact, there are over 20 alternatives to the traditional Adsense, with more coming out every month! So you certainly can choose from among a variety of programs.
Clicksor.com offers a variety of methods to place ads on your website. You can choose from pop-unders, search boxes, text banner, text links, and more. They also give you up to 70% of their ad revenue. Payment is through PayPal or by check. Clicksor also has a lower payout than Adsense, just $50.
TargetPoint is another alternative that you might be interested in. This site is specifically aimed at webmasters and allows full customization of the ads to be placed on your site. You control how the ads look and receive a minimum of 50% of ad revenue. This one works a bit more like Adsense in that the CPM changes, but you get the highest paying ads possible to place on your website. They pay through PayPal, check or wire transfer. There appears to be no minimum payout.
Adbrite is one of the more popular Adsense alternatives that is being used with great success by many website and blog owners. Adbrite gives you text ads or banner ads, depending on your preference and you have the option of reviewing each ad before it goes live on your website, allowing you to ban inappropriate or competitive ads before they are displayed. You also get to set the price for ads on your website. Minimum payout level is $5 and they pay by check.
BidClix is another ad program that offers very fast payment (15 days after the end of the month) and you set your own prices. They also allow you to approve all ads that will appear on your website, as well as sell ad space directly to advertisers. You will also have a free website listing in their directory. Payment methods not specified.
These are just a handful of the brightest and best alternatives to the Google empire. If you are looking for something new and different that will attract clicks instead of making your visitors look elsewhere, try one or two of the above programs.
