Adult Acne and Wrinkles - Effective Products for 30 to 50-Something Skin
Treating Blemishes and Fine Lines is Possible
Dermatologists will note that individuals suffering from acne require an individual treatment program. Consequently, acne products with glowing reviews, as seen on TV or elsewhere, may not work for you.
Additionally, dermatologists focus on the whole skincare regimen and other health factors, not solely on the acne itself.
With this in mind, some ingredients and acne treatments maintain a reliable history for the majority of acne-prone individuals.
The following regimen happens to work well on this 30-something plus, acne-prone skin and includes anti-aging skincare products as well.
Two of the aforementioned products are not designed as acne treatments but demonstrate efficiency nonetheless. So if you are searching for a better complexion, consider if these skincare products can help in your battle against adult acne and fine lines.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin ® Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish (Cleanser or Scrub)
With a winning combination of Alpha-Hydroxy and Salicylic Acid, Neutrogena Healthy Skin is difficult to beat, both to prevent acne and promote healthy skin. The Neutrogena scrub provides the extra benefit of eliminating additional dead surface skin.
However, the cleanser may be a better alternative if you have substantial acne, to avoid aggravating blemishes. Another key to preventing acne is to use a good cleanser daily, and this applies to Neutrogena Healthy Skin as well.
Olay Total Effects Intensive Restoration Treatment
Containing Pro-Retinol and VitaNiacin, this Olay product is originally designed for its anti-aging properties, but I have found it makes a most effective acne treatment, especially concerning acne prevention. A small buzz is going around the Net concerning Olay, so it confirmed that my experience is not unique.
Given the simple fact that Olay Total Effects removes more dead skin cells and Retinol dries the skin, its effect on acne makes sense.
For best results, use daily to acne-prone areas. With the inclusion of Olay Total Effects to my regimen I find breakouts are much fewer and farther between and acne due to 'hormones' is more limited and heals faster.
Maximum Strength Acne Treatment Cream
If you are pleased with your anti-acne cream, there is not much reason to switch, though you can save money with generics, such as Wal-Mart's Equate brand. For reasons unknown, the Equate brand seems to do a better job at fighting acne for this face than many name brands.
The maximum strength acne cream formula contains 10% Benzoyl peroxide and can be used effectively to both prevent acne and treat existing breakouts. Whichever product you use, for best results, ensure sufficient application to the affected area and apply the cream regularly at the first signs of acne.
L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease
Moisturizer is essential for most adult skin and when acne treatment is used the need is greater. Flaky skin holds little more appeal than acne does.
If you are battling both fine lines and acne you may want an anti-aging cream instead, but one that does not contribute to acne breakouts.
L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease with Boswelox provides 24-hour hydration, works at reducing the appearance of fine lines, eliminates dry patches and helps even out skin tone. Blotchy skin often accompanies adult acne so L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease is well suited for this skincare concern.
If you are satisfied with your moisturizer and it is not suspect for acne concerns, stick with it. If you are looking for a better product, consider L'Oreal Wrinkle De-Crease as an alternative. It appears to be quite friendly to acne-prone skin.
Conclusion
Remember that an effective acne skincare regimen is a unique process and that acne can worsen temporarily before it improves. This is particularly true when the skin has been neglected. However, continued use of a skincare product that accompanies increased acne should be discussed with a dermatologist or skincare specialist. If you suffer from adult acne, investigate the products you are using, a change may produce highly desirable results.

Good suggestions! Adult acne can be a difficult problem to treat.
As you can tell, I am way behind in writing, reading, and leaving comments. I will eventually catch up. Great article, well written.
I totally have this problem. Awful acne but now under my eyes the skin is getting soooo crepey! The anti-acne treatments are working pretty good, but if I accidently get any of it on the undereye skin at all (even while rinsing) it just makes the skin that much worse. I'm not sure what to do! Very aggravating.
Thank goodness I don't have to worry about this - but the pic is great! It looks like it is right out of the LIFE magazine from the year I was born - haahaa.
Luckily this is an issue I've been able to avoid.
Great artricle, but I won't be 30 for 7 more years LOL Seriously, great review of these products!
Interesting about Equate.
