These ideas are especially great for the person who has everything.
One idea is to have everyone bring a pound of something. A pound of coffee, cheese, meat, nails or perfume. Ask your guests to be creative. Anything that is 16 oz works. It does not have to be food.
If the party is around Christmas, tell guests to each bring an ornament as a gift. It's all about fun and creativity and not about the cost of the item.
You can give a birthday party focused on bathroom items. Bathmats, towels, soap, shampoo and bath oils work great.
How about a Bar party? Does the birthday person like alcohol or shot glasses? You will be surprised what people come up with using this theme.
Choose a hobby the person enjoys. Are they a New York Yankees fan? Ask guests to buy gifts all related to the Yankees. T-shirts, balls, decals, posters, watches and about anything you can think of has team logos on them.
Is the birthday person new to a home or an apartment? Why not have a cleaning party? Gifts can include mops, detergents, scouring pads and all those items people need, but hate to use money to buy.
Is the person the party is for a coffee lover? Everyone can bring a bag of different flavored coffee. The guest of honor will be thrilled to have something they will use.
Does the birthday girl or guy love to cook? You can have guests bring books with recipes or if you want to go cheap, just have each bring a special recipe as a gift.
You can have a DVD party. Everyone brings the birthday person a DVD.
Or you can have a party where everyone chips in to buy one gift for a person - perhaps a new flat panel television or piece of furniture.
Tickets are always a good idea too. Tickets can be a movie, football game, broadway show or a certificate to a restaurant.
Thinking of the perfect idea depends on the person. Think hard about what they really need or like. If you know the person well, the theme will be easy to decide up and your party will truly be unique.
