The health, well-being, safety and security of the residents are the primary concern of Adult Care Homes. Caregivers are well trained and must pass rigorous background checks in order to be hired.
Residents are treated with the highest level of respect, quality of care, and compassion, and their families are encouraged to become as active in their loved one's care as they'd like. Open communication is emphasized, between everyone involved in a resident's care. Assistance is provided with the Activities of Daily Living in everything from dressing to hoyer lift transfers, while at the same time encouragement is given so that individuals may remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. Special diets are taken into consideration and meals are prepared to reflect the doctor's orders. Home cooked healthy meals and snacks are the norm. Laundry service and housekeeping is provided as needed.
Activities are geared toward individual cognitive and physical abilities, yet they are entertaining and stimulating, without being degrading. Residents are often taken on outings, and if the weather permits outside. Also, residents are urged to practice their spiritual/ religious beliefs and cultural customs and observance is given to any special holidays, birthdays and special events.
