3 Fun Games for the Holiday

Robin Vinci
Halloween is a time for fun and some mischievous behavior. If you are throwing a party, games add to the holiday atmosphere. But it must be games that fit the occasion. These three games are both fun and a bit mysterious. You can adjust them depending on how many people you have but with just a little bit of effort, most can be played by all the guests.

Gory Body Parts

First you need to blindfold everyone.

You then will put body parts in a bowl or a creepy Halloween witch's pot and pass it around. Your guests must guess which body piece they've grabbed.

Of course, the items are not real body parts. You can use things such as two grapes in a bag to represent eyes. A cauliflower can be a brain. A sausage can be intestines. Shaped Jell-O in a bag can be a heart. Licorice can be veins. Use your imagination and you will find other cool items to use as body parts.

Or you can play it another way. Just take out one piece at a time and let each of them feel it. Then they can whisper in your ear what they think it is. Keep score.

Who is the killer?

This is a murder mystery type game. The party giver chooses someone in advance to be the murderer. You tell your guests to move around the room in any order. If someone winks at you, they are the murderer and the person must drop to the floor dead. You can use another signal but winking is easy. The person who dies must do it in dramatic fashion. Let me tell you the way people pretend to die is the funniest part of the whole game. The killer must kill at least 3 people. If there are a lot of people, it can be more.

The guests must then figure out who the killer was. Each person can have 1 guess. If you have played this before, shake it up by making two killers and not telling anyone there are two killers. Even the people who play the murderers will be confused.

Halloween Charades

It is just what it sounds like. Write the name of horror movies or horror movie murderers on pieces of paper. Fold them up and put them in a bowl. Divide the party into two teams. One member of each team takes a paper and tries to act out the name of the movie. Team mates try to figure out which movie it is. You can time it, if you like. This is quite difficult because there are so many movies that have murderers. It's a great way to play charades and is perfect on Halloween.

Those are the games, I've enjoyed the most at a Halloween party. I'm sure your guests will enjoy them too.
