Advanced Death Management

Ingenious Outsourcing

T. Ramaswamy
In an outstanding article on Death Management a Professor presents a graphic and interesting picture of modern trends in society in the area of event management. There are specialists and super specialists offering a variety of services, and their fundamental philosophy is outsourcing. In the article the Professor beautifully explains how in the context of children living far away from their parents, death and subsequent events are dealt with. The core principle, as is the fashion now, is outsourcing. In the article mourners are commissioned through an Event Management Company. The entire sequence of events and activities connected with the dressing and disposal of the body and the obsequies are undertaken by the company leaving nothing to be done by the really affected relatives except funding. The outsourced agency makes the programme colorful and promises to make it more so if hefty payments are made.

The demand for such services far exceeds the supply so that agencies book their potential clients in advance using statistical calculations. They locate potential clients who are in their death beds or those who are likely to enter the critical stage and hunt for details to determine the timing of the event so that they can do it with thoroughness and precision.

Senior citizens are considered potential clients . Mike, long fleet of cars to form the procession, video coverage, flux bards etc.are arranged as part of the turn key contract by the event management company.. Above all there is the unique facility of uploading the event and the detailed schedule on the internet for others to see. The relatives located far away could see all details live in absentia. This is a matter talked with pride and becomes the talk of the town.
It is said as civilization advances poetry declines. In the present context with a slight modification we can say as "siphilization" advances values decline. So such high tech means are brought under events management so that concerned people need not move out of their seats to witness or participate in the events and ceremonies of their dearest and nearest.

To make it comprehensive and foolproof a further refinement of the process could be thought of by the event manager. This is to out source death of the person to some one so that the relative need not die, for his death is delegated and taken over by someone- all for money. In fact this is advanced death management. The joy of participating in the funeral then is available also to the person who originally was in the death list. As 'siphilization' advances this event also becomes a distinct possibility and we can claim we are making colossal progress!
