Advantages of Mobile Marketing

Face it, we live in a fast-paced and very mobile world. Gone are the days when a marketing executive spent eight hours a day chained to a desk coming up with catchy phrases or graphics to expand the business in the form of print ads. Now there are many tools to accomplish the same goals in this Information Age. One of the hottest trends in the public domain is mobile marketing.

Mobile marketing combines the best of available technology with the simplicity of one liner ads in a convenient SMS (text message) format. Advertisers can blast their short ads across the digital airwaves to mobile phone users at any time of day, quickly and efficiently. Words are a powerful form of marketing that can reach all consumers. Those little catchy phrases stick in the minds of consumers as they read them on their cell phones. Offer a link into those messages and you will see immediate returns on your advertising investment dollars.

So what are some advantages of using mobile marketing?

1. Consumer response - Studies have shown that 90% of consumers will read the ads when they are sent. And they will be more likely to remember the ads than the desensitizing television and radio ads thrown at consumers daily.

2. Diversity - You are reaching a broader more diverse audience than by using other methods of advertising with a mobile campaign.

3. Cost - Advertisements are not cheap nowadays. Mobile phone campaign costs are shared by the firm and the consumers as they pick up the ads, not entirely funded by the marketing firm. This is just a few cents to each consumer, but it is a substantial savings to your firm.

4. Demographics - Just by targeting certain zip codes or area codes, you can control what populations actually receive the ads. It gives more control to the advertiser to be able to choose where and when to send the ads.

5. Save a tree - what better way to cut down on our natural resources than by broadcasting in a digital format rather than by means of print ads or television? Less paper waste = more trees.

6. Speed - Just as consumers live in a fast-paced world, so do advertising firms. Ads can be designed in a matter of hours instead of incurring the time and manpower investment of a print or television ad campaign. Text messages can be sent out to millions of consumers simultaneously.

With the advent of Apple iPhones and other internet ready devices, mobile marketing will only continue to grow as a viable form of advertising to the masses. Phone lists can be easily obtained from mobile phone providers and targeted campaigns can be accomplished quickly. Don't miss out on this opportunity as the world continues to change in the future.
