Adventures in Insomnia: Enzyte & Your Friends

L.B. Bryant
As I've written before, insomnia is a constant presence in my life. I use the word presence because I've long since come to terms with my status as a nocturnal individual and so not being able to sleep at night really isn't that big of a problem for me. Especially since it leads to me getting to view so many things on television that I would never get to see otherwise.

This time in particular I am focusing on my absolute favorite television ad campaign. Every one has seen it and everyone can vaguely recognize that cheesy whistling theme song when they hear it. Of course I am referring to the all natural male enhancement pill Enzyte.

The pill itself isn't what amuses me nor is it even the actors who are deliberately acting as cheesy as possible while on camera. There is one thing in particular that no matter how many times I see it, will always make me laugh and that would be when the announcer says (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'So Bob (or whatever his name is) did the right thing and called his buddy to tell him about Enzyte.'

Can you imagine how that conversation went?

Bob: Hello?

Jim: Hey Bob, it's Jim.

Bob: Oh hey Jim, how's it going?

Jim: Oh it's going great now.

Bob: Oh? Why so great?

Jim: Well, you remember that conversation we had last week where I was complaining about my lack of ability in satisfying my wife in bed?

Bob: Actually I've been trying to forget that conversation every since we had it.

Jim: Well, I went ahead and ordered that Enzyte stuff and I gotta tell you, my wife is wearing a smile for sure now!

Bob: Um... that's nice but really none of my business.

Jim: Say now that we're on the subject, are you having problems satisfying Kathy in the bedroom? ... Hello? Hello?

Well, to be fair at least I've never seen a penis enlargement infomercial that tells guys to talk about their experiences with their friends. Now THAT'S a conversation that I'd want to be a fly on the wall of!
