Advice for Getting 'Disney on Broadway' Tickets

M.A.W.
If you know Disney, then you know that they do everything big. The parks, the movies, and now, the Broadway shows. If you have ever been to one of the shows at any of their parks, then you would know that Broadway was a logical next step to take their magic to a bigger stage and broader audience.

Skeptical? So was I at first. In fact, I couldn't have been less interested in live theater or Broadway all all...Until I saw Beauty and the Beast, and I only did that because one of my favorite daytime actors, Jacob Young, was playing Lumiere. I thought that there was absolutely no way that the amazing films could transfer on to the stage and still capture the magic that is Disney. I could not have been more wrong.

Not only did it transfer well, but it surpassed both my expectations and the film itself and succeeded at the same time, to create a Broadway addict of me.

The greatest thing about Disney on Broadway is that you can take your entire family and everyone from 2 to 100 will be entertained, mesmerized, and guaranteed a good time. A number of Disney movies have come to Broadway through the years, and any of them could be termed "Fantastic!"

Currently on Broadway now are classics, "Mary Poppins", "The Little Mermaid", and of course, "The Lion King". Any would be a suitable choice for all ages and for the family, "The Lion King", of course, being the most popular and most stunning production of all of them. However, don't count on getting in to see that one any time soon as it is very often sold out. Tickets may still be available, but at a very steep, premium price. *

There are discount tickets available through sites like Broadwayoffers.com and Broadwaybox.com. Although the Holidays are a great time to go see shows and spend time with your family, if you are on a budget, Broadway may not be the best choice for this time of year. Typically all shows up their prices from about Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. Often, discount sites do not apply discounts to this time of year either.

However, if you are looking for a great show and have the time and the money to spend, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Disney on Broadway!

* Ticket prices

Lion King---Often sold out, can go as high as $150 if you can find them

Little Mermaid--ranging from $85 to $120
