Advice to the High School Graduate

Something to Remember

Wafa Unus
So, you made it. High school is over and our lives are just about to really begin. You've had some great times and some not so great times. There are times where you have given up and given in but through all the hardship, the struggles, the frustration and the disappointment, a single thread has kept your world from falling apart, and though we may not know it now, that thread is the really the rope of our faith, or freedom, and our love.

As this world takes you to places where words can't do justice and your heart scopes out realms your mind can't explain, always remember that the answers that you search for can only be found within.

You may not be where you expected to be years before and you may not become who you thought you might be in years to come, who you are, who you have been and you will inevitably become, will be dependent on your strength in character and morality.

As you move on to bigger and better things and as you go your way remember to open each book with the intent to learn for your own benefit first. Allow your doubt to be conquered by your curiousity. Do not compromise yourself. Do not withdraw yourself. Do not negate yourself, but most importantly, do not lose yourself. Who you are isn't written in the language of this world, it is written in the depths of your soul, in the inner-workings of your heart. Who you are isn't a title, isn't an occupation, isn't an accomplishment. Who you are is distinguished by your character.
