A habit that I consider to be the most common would be smoking. There are about a million too many out there that smoke and have been smoking since they were in there early teens. Let me throw something at you real quick; multiply the number of packs you smoke in a week times the amount each pack costs. You are loosing a good chunck of your paycheck. That alone should be enough to get someone to quit but for those out there that need a stronger cure, I have exactly what you need. There is only one true way that you can quit smoking. You have to really want to quit, no smoking patch or nicotine gum will make you quit smoking. To quit smoking you have to be strong mentally and that is it. The patch and the gum give you that confidence and that mental power because for some reason you think that it will actually help but thats not the case. When you are positive mentally you are stronger physically and emotionally. The mind is a power full device. If you strive to gain mental control you can defeat anything. Set your goals high and be mentally focused, don't let temptation take over.
Another habit I consider to be very common but not recognized enough is the thought of cursing. Many people curse and don't think of it as a bad habit. The fact is that what you do as an adult affects the younger generations. If you are cussing someone out and there kid so happens to over hear, that moment will be reflected in his or her life. Kids do what adults do. If you want to quit cursing then right now take a deep breath and think to yourself, " I want my kid to have the best life that he or she could possibly have". In order for them to have a good life they have to be led into success. You have to show them how to take care of themselves so that one day they could live on their own and raise their own family and do it successfully. What I'm getting at is if you think about who you affect when you curse you might think again about using some of the words you do. Also to help you , you should slow your talking. Like the bible says, " be slow to speak and quick to hear". When you stop cursing you will also see other aspects of your life improving so that is another thing to look forward to and to give you that mental goal.
I hope you take this article and apply it to your life. Like they say, " you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink". I have gave you some key information on breaking some bad habits now it's up to you to apply it. It does no good if you read this and then ignore it. One last piece of advice that works for everything, have support. If you have a friend that is willing to join you in breaking these habits then you have will also have fun while breaking your habits. Remember, it is all mental. Be tough mentally and you can control everything that crosses your face. Good luck.
