You write a few three-line ads, pay Google for every time someone clicks on them, and wait for the traffic flow. Your ad isn't buried on some lousy site that doesn't get many visitors. It's right up in the face of the people searching for your keyword phrases.
It's irresistible.
It's also dangerous.
Those little payments for each click have a strange way of adding up. Unless your projections with respect to conversion rates and total likely clicks are on the mark, you can end up in the hole faster than you can say "CTR."
There are many people making money-driving traffic to their sites with Adwords pay-per-click ads. There are also many people licking their wounds right now, after another day of paying too much for clicks that didn't result in a sale. Obviously, you'd like to be in the profitable camp. Is that possible?
Adwords profit is out there for the right people--they just require the right know-how. Adwords is deceptively simple. It looks like a can't-miss proposition. Then, you miss. And you miss again.
What's wrong? Why are others raking in Adwords profit while you just keep tossing money at Google? Are you cursed? Are they lucky? It seems so easy... What's happening?
The answer has little to do with luck and a lot to do with using the right system. If you walk into Adwords with little more than an idea and an incomplete keyword list, you can bet your bottom dollar that you won't build a successful campaign.
If, on the other hand, you understand which terms to bid, how to bid them, how to write a great advertisement, how to adjust and monitor your campaign, how to cap costs and all of the other little details that separate the moneymakers from the disappointed, you can make Adwords work for you.
Don't go into the process ignorantly. Get and study the best ways to make Adwords profit a reality before you spend your first (or another) dime on a campaign.
