Aerospace Engineering: The Key to the Universe

The engineering/technology field encompasses a plethora of individual specializations. In this world of abounding technology and bustling development, one area of engineering remains almost entirely research-based: Aerospace Engineering. A perfect combination of physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, and technology; it presents a new outlook towards the common engineer.

Who hasn't wondered what really lies beyond our atmosphere? Aerospace engineering provides humanity with the only conceptualization of the universe. One who studies the universe must possess a hybrid thought process composed of innovation paired with application. Limits are only imposed by the designer's own desire and motivation to discover phenomena. An endless amount of information patiently awaits discovery. It is the fact that my developments could lead to the discovery of new data that motivates me to pursue a future in aerospace engineering.

The concepts of mathematics and engineering have always been enthralling to me. Knowing that every day, I can have the opportunity to design something that could improve the lives of others or further mankind's understanding of our surroundings captivates my imagination. It goes without saying that my passion lies in impacting the people around me. Engineering opens doors that make possibilities endless and dreams into reality.

It is quite apparent that we must work together as a collect whole to discover the unknown. It takes the collaboration of countries, companies, departments, and individuals to design the innovative mechanisms capable of maneuvering the terrain that exists beyond the boundaries of Earth. The technology firms in China are just as essential to the development of the future of engineering as the manufacturing facilities of North America. In a sense, an aerospace engineer must be as much diplomat as developer.

One of my strongest skills has always been the capability to communicate information effectively. The aerospace industry requires one not only to produce effective mechanisms, but to also persuade others to invest in such developments. In no other specialization could I exercise both my presentation and persuasive talents within the context of an engineering profession.

With all things considered, aerospace engineering is the key to my future. It is symbolic for all that comprises who I am. The concepts that make up the field coincide with my personal values and aspirations for humanity. As Henry G. Stott stated ever so eloquently over a century ago, "Engineering is the art of organizing and directing men and controlling the forces and materials of nature for the benefit of the human race." I am proud to say that my life is to be dedicated to the exploration of the unknown for the benefit of all whom we encounter.
