Affiliano.Com - an Unbiased Review

Scam or Not? Read First Then You Decide

Robbie G
If you've ever had the chance of seeing the ads that offer free information on how to earn 50 to 400 dollars a day, chances are, they're from Affiliano.com. I even saw them here on associatedcontent's ad spaces.

What exactly is affiliano.com you may ask. Well, it is a referral program that pays 2.00 to 4.00 dollars per referral. Sounds enticing, doesn't it? This will probably change your mind after you're through with my post.

1) Nothing comes free. There is ALWAYS a catch.
You sign up to get your free info, thinking that you can earn the amount for free. What's the catch ? You need to buy a hostmonster.com package worth 100USD. Affiliano is their affiliate so they get 65USD or more per sale. When you go on hostmonster.com without clicking on their given link, you will note that the monthly cost for a website and hosting on hostmonster.com is 6.95 USD. They sometimes will offer a promo of 5.95 USD monthly. If you sign up through affiliano, your hosting will be more than 6.95 USD monthly. I got 7.95USD charged monthly.

2) They do not pay in USD
They pay in NEW ZEALAND DOLLARS

3) Their support is slow
The entire process to register took more than 3 days because of the shooting of emails back and forth.
i) Sign up on the site
ii) Get a welcome email with info package
iii) Sign up with hostmonster.com
iv) Send your welcome email to the affiliano support
v) Affiliano sends you a form
vi) You fill the form up and send it back
vii) You wait until they approve your request and send your log in details
It takes 24 hours to respond to your every ticket

4) Time it takes to complete
It takes more than minutes or even more than 24 hours to complete your sign up and have your website up.
What you see on their homepage isn't true. It doesn't take minutes to sign up.

5) Payment in USD?
You don't get your 100 New Zealand Dollars accredited right away. At least, I didn't.

6) Free AD credits?
Yes, you get free Ad Credits on Yahoo, Miva and Google but it's not much use because they're for US and Canada only.

7) How do you get referrals?
You can only promote your Afffiliano site by Google adwords, Adsense, pay to click campaigns on search engines. You mostly pay in USD for advertising but Affiliano pays in NZD. Check the conversion for currency rates and then you'll see that the advertising cost eats your per referral commissions quite a lot. So, how much are you left with? Of course, you CANNOT get successful sign ups with every click to your site. So, as you run your Ad Campaigns, how much can you really earn?

8) Write or pay someone to write a good review
They recommend a site that you can pay to write a positive review of Affiliano. The pay is $80 for a 'press release' to be featured in one site. Well, that's why they did. Paid positive review. That's why there are so many biased reviews out there.

9) Network on sites (Who doesn't already know this)
They also say advertise on social networking sites, ezine or similar sites but tell you what, their whole "I'll teach you how to market" idea is very dry and doesn't hold much substance. They only really offer those alternatives to advertise. So they're not innovative.

10) No buying traffic - you rely on your PPCs, and social networking
You cannot buy sign ups or traffic to your page. Other CPA s allow you to do whatever you want to get traffic or sign ups but this one doesn't. Then you take note of the currency conversion so they per referral rate is not that high. You can get more elsewhere.

11) Bias on Search Engine
Google Affiliano and you'll see that top sites that come out on the search engine are promoters of Affiliano. Look carefully into the websites and you'll see that they all lead to one source or the content/ context is same or similar. Then you'll note that the sites interlink. They link to eachother. They could very well be run by the Affiliano admin. Same as youtube posts. They're multiple posts but most of them have the same link.

12) Their so-called TOP affiliate Matthew A was said to be the top affiliate on April, 2009. This news was again featured on August 2009. Another advertising move to attract people?

13) Poor web maintenance
They have around 20 website templates and only 3 work.

14) Matt A real? Right.
This is the last point which you will only know if you have bought the hosting package and you already are an affiliate. They say Matt A earned 13,000 something. They don't indicate the NZD right? Okay. What's more is this. In the set up instructions, you will find videos on Google campaigns, how to set them up. It's a tutorial. And who is teaching? None other than the Matt A person that they say has earned 13,000. So, like I said, for all we know, this Matt A could be part of the admin.

I would not recommend this to anyone because they're trying to entice members with false information. Do they really pay? I don't know because I haven't seen anyone post information about being paid or getting paid by them. What I found was that some people say these guys are the same people who scammed members of their Affiliate Junktion program.

I can't say whether or not they pay but what I can tell you is, they're not all they claim to be. They care more about scoring their affiliate commissions of 65USD or more than they do about their members.

I already requested a refund through Hostmonster and it's been processed.
