Affinity Cube Driver Review

Hi Tech - Low Cost

MikeBabjak
With all the technology out there today in the golf business, it is very hard to keep up. Add to that and if you are up to par on your golf equipment, how do you choose which one is right for you? There are so many companies making similar products it is hard to decide. There are many choices out there and while I always suggest going out to hit the clubs first I realize this is not always possible. I would suggest that you go to a cheaper alternative. Weather you are thinking about a first hybrid, or a square shaped wood, you can find a cheaper model at your local retail store for 1/4 the cost of the high end OEM clubs.

The Affinity Cube driver fits the profile perfectly. Made by the same company that now owns Orlimar Golf, the Cube is the perfect "test" club before shelling out $400 for the major OEM model. It's 460cc square head gives the player some added forgiveness and also gets them to take a look at the shape to really decide if it is something they would like to stick with or not. It comes with a mid flex Aldila shaft and Winn grip. Best thing is, it only costs $69.99!!! How is that you ask? Materials! This club does give you some of the benefits of a square head without the expensive materials and internal weighting. This cuts cost drastically as it is simply a shell of 7075 Forged Alloy and not Titanium. This club will get you hitting it straighter yes, but you will not be picking up any distance with this material.

When I hit it, I liked what I saw for the money. The face is closed 1*, it looks as good as a square driver can sitting behind the ball and the overall feel was decent enough for the price point. The club felt very soft when I hit balls with it. Producing a high draw, the shaft felt a little weak for me, but then again it is a mid flex designed for the average to slower swing speeds. The sound was fine, ball flight while a little high was decent and I was only loosing around 10 yards per shot. This is a great step up in my opinion for the recreational golfer to get some accuracy in their games, step up to the new technology and not break the bank doing it! You can find these clubs on line, but also at many, many retail stores in your area.

I'll follow up with a few other reviews of low cost clubs to give everyone some more options than shelling out hundreds of dollars for golf clubs!

I guess if someone can afford to burn some cash they'd shell out those $400. Yipes!
