In simple terms, affirmations are positive statements that you take as truth. Affirmations are most effective when you use them on a daily basis or at least on a regular schedule. Always state affirmations as if they are already true. Use the present tense and use positive words. Using negative words defeats the purpose. Say what you DO want as if you already have it. Saying what you do NOT want will only bring more of the same. People sometimes fail to use affirmation due to a lack of understanding about how repeating these statements can change a person's life.
Self-improvement is not about just one thing and affirmations are only a small, yet important part of the process. Setting goals is necessary in every part of life whether it is money, health, relationships or spiritual. Goals are the place you want to take your life. Perhaps you want a more loving relationship, more financial security, a better job or to develop spiritually. These are end results. They cannot come without first going through the rest of the process. What you are going through right this minute is a direct result of everything you have done, felt, or thought up to this point. The key to getting different results is to change your thoughts and in turn change your life. The best way to do this is with some essential affirmations.
How you talk to yourself deeply affects your life. Your thoughts form the framework of your experiences and everything around you. If you are always negative and looking for things to always go wrong, that is exactly what your experience will be. To improve your life requires that you change your thinking. You did not get those negative thoughts out of thin air. They have become a habit because you have repeated them to yourself so often. Do you see how using essential, positive affirmations can do the same thing through regular use?
How you feel will change when you consistently use affirmations. It will help you find and root out the negative thoughts that are keeping you from getting the life you want and deserve.
