Affordable Dining in and Near the O'Hare International Airport

Flying isn't always a fun deal. Flying into or out of The Chicago O'Hare International Airport, which is one of the largest, can be quite an ordeal in itself. If you are caught on a layover the wait time can take a toll on a hungry body; and if you are not familiar with the restaurants inside the airport, it can take a toll on your wallet too.

So where does a hungry traveler go to get the best food for his buck? Right inside the airport itself are a few different places you can choose from.

The Corner Stone Bakery is a huge favorite of mine. It is located inside the airport in terminals one and three. Hours for this restaurant are from 6am to 9pm. I highly recommend the Bavarian on Pretzel Bread. It is a great price of around $6.50 and will be sure to hold you over until you get to your destination. The service here is just as you would imagine in a diner, fast and friendly with a homey feel in the atmosphere. It really is a great place to relax on that lay over.

Chili's Restaurant is located in three different terminals and will offer up anything from burgers to full blown meals. They are open from 6am to 10pm daily. Prices are very fair here and I recommend the Chili's Cheese steak, it is more than filling and mouth watering delicious. It runs around $8.00 and you get a huge helping of home-style fries to go with it.

If you are in search of fast food type meal you need to check out Gold Coast Dog. You can grab up one of their combo meals (I suggest their chili cheese dogs that come with your drink and fries for around $6.00) and be served in a flash. They have two different locations inside the airport, in terminals three and five. They are open 24 hours a day so even the midnight snacker can grab up a delicious meal on the go.

There is a diner style restaurant located in terminal five of The Chicago O'Hare Airport and offers up food in a very diner feel atmosphere. Lou Mitchell's Express has a variety of diner menu items and is very affordable. The staff here is very warm and friendly and makes you feel very comfortable and welcome. They are open 24/7 so every weary traveler can have a place to eat and relax without the high cost of formal dining.

Pizza Uno is located in terminals one, two, three and five right in the Chicago O'Hare Airport, and offers great tasting handmade pizza at a great price. You can have an individual size pizza that comes with soup or salad along with their quick service for less than $7.00. They even offer a kids menu with personal pizza's just right for their size for around $4.00.

I love to read and even more love to write. If there is something to learn out there I am up to my elbows in it. Researching just about everything is only one of my many interests.  View profile
