Affordable Hotels Near Halloween Horror Nights in Universal Studios

Mick
Halloween Horror Nights is Universal Studios most famous event. Running for about a week in the end of October, Halloween Horror Nights can be a blast, but staying around Universal Studios can get pretty expensive pretty quickly, particularly during that time of year. If you want to be close to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures so that you can partake in the events going on, you have a few options for affordable lodging.

My absolute favorite hotel to stay in around Universal Studios is the La Quinta Inn and Suites. Located nearly within walking distance of Universal Studios main gate, La Quinta starts at $115 per night at the end of October and can house up to 6 people in a room. The bedroom suites here are particular affordable and the proximity to Universal Studios will help you save on travel costs, particularly in this era of particularly expensive gas prices. The service here is wonderful and the condition immaculate every time we have been.

International Plaza Resort and Spa is a great price for an upscale environment. With prices starting at $104, you would hardly believe that this hotel also offers spa treatments and tropical landscaping. The pool is totally surrounded by lovely palm trees and can be very relaxing. The landscaping makes you feel a million miles from everything, even though you are just around the corner from Universal Studios on International Drive. During Halloween Horror Nights, you can spend your days relaxing and your nights living it up.

In the Convention Center area just a short jaunt from Universal Studios and Halloween Horror Nights, you can save some serious money if you're willing to take a bit of a hit for quality. The Quality Inn on International Drive is a bit farther out and the quality pretty good for the low starting rate of $80 a night. Perhaps due to the decreased cost, there seem to be many more families there, and that can get pretty rowdy. The pool is not fantastic, but is certainly warm and wet. If you're looking for a good value and good service, but perhaps not the most upscale hotel, the Quality Inn might be the way to go.

We have also stayed at the Howard Johnson in the Convention Center area. This is an extremely inexpensive place to stay not far from Halloween Horror Nights. The most positive thing we have to say is that it is extremely inexpensive at approximately $50 a night, but the service is pretty good here, particularly for what you pay. The condition of the Howard Johnson is decent, but nothing outstanding.

Travelodge Orlando is also located in the Convention Center and provides another option for extremely inexpensive lodging during Halloween Horror Nights, starting at $50 a night. The pool here is preferable to that of the Howard Johnson, but was pretty noisy when we stayed there. The service was great, we thought, but the condition of the hotel not fantastic. However, if you're spending all of your time at Halloween Horror Nights, it provides a great place to sleep, and the money you save can be better used elsewhere.
