Affordable Ski Trips to Moose Mountain, Alaska

Danielle L
When planning an affordable ski trip to Alaska, I suggest Moose Mountain. There is plenty to do and see. With 35 trails and 14 lifts there is plenty to keep the outdoor snow sports going. They offer both skiing and snowboarding.

First you want to set up your lodging. One of the recommended sites to stay is Spring Hill Suites Fairbanks located at 575 First Avenue Fairbanks, AK 99701. Prices range from $75 - $89 a night per room. Another great choice is Sophie Station Hotel located at 1717 University Avenue Fairbanks, AK. Prices range from $75 - $95 a night per room. Another great choice is the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. Located at 4477 Pikes Landing Rd. Fairbanks, AK 99709. Prices range from $89 - $99 a night per room. Also if you book online they offer a rate of $84 a night per room through May. Details can be seen HERE.

Next you should check out the calendar of events to see if there are any events you want to plan your trip around. Keep in mind that doing this might drive up the prices of rentals and lodging.

Also check out the restaurants that you would want to visit for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here is a list of restaurants in the area. One great restaurant in Fairbanks is Gambardella's Pasta Bella where the average meal will be about $10 a person or less! When dinning make sure to check their website for the current online coupons for even better deals! A great place to get some seafood is The Chowder House. Another good place to check out is The Last Roundup Restaurant.

All day rates including the lift tickets at the resort are $35 for adults 18 and over, students 13+ and military are $30, children 7-12 are $25 and Children 6 and under are free as are seniors 70+.

Ski Equipment rentals are $20 a day and include Skis, Boots, and poles. Snowboard Rentals are also $20 a day and include the snowboard and boots.

The resort hours vary. The resort is open November till April weather and snow permitting. Hours from November through February are 10 am - 4pm except during the winter solstice period when they close by 3pm due to darkness. March and April they are open 11 am to 5 pm.

For more information from the resort or any questions on the resort call the Base Lodge at 907-479-4732 or visit their website Shred The Moose.
