Africa Famine Relief: Christina Aguilera and Bob Marley Help Promote the Cause

Karen Barnes
Just two days after news about Bob Marley's music being used to help with famine relief in Africa, Christina Aguilera has recorded a song for YUM to help in the hunger cause.

Marley and Aguilera are not the first to be helping with hunger or relief causes around the world. Bob Marley is the first to do so posthumously.

Other Celebrities to help with Hunger and Relief Aid Projects of the Past

"We Are the World" and Farm Aid are two other relief aid projects that have been spear-headed by and had well-known celebrities for the cause.

"We Are the World"

Either way both campaigns should bring in relief for people living in hunger stricken areas in Africa. Neither of these campaigns are the first to help fight hunger in stricken areas around the world.

"We Are the World" was heard around the world as one of the largest hunger campaigns in the 80s backed by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson with a slew of top stars from the era helping in the well-known video and song. The video and song still bring in monies for the cause.

"We Are the World" had its 25th anniversary in 2010. A whole new cast stepped in to remake a video for further relief for Haiti.

Farm Aid and Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson has held several Farm Aid concerts to help farmers around the U.S. keep their farms for over 25 years. Through these concerts, Nelson and the acts that put on these shows have done so with the love and respect others have and are doing with current hunger relief.

All of these hunger and relief aid celebrities tie in with each other. If not for the farmers and ranchers, the relief aid for hunger stricken areas such as Africa wouldn't have as much support and food coming in as they would get at any other time.
