After a Fair in the South

Lucky M Diaz
The funnel cake fryers have been turned off

And having dined on the Fair goers, the mosquitoes are full.

The freak show attendants smoke cigarettes and cough,

While the Four H Club winner waters his prized bull.

A security officer wipes the sweat from his brow,

As his superior reads the report about a cotton candy theft.

All is calm on the Fair grounds now

Because the last of the visitors have left.

See...THIS is what poetry is about. A fleeting glimpse at one tiny little moment in life put to verse. Thank you.
