The Friday after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday, conjures up images of people standing in long lines during the wee hours of the morning in order to rush into a store to get those deals that only come once in a lifetime, or once a year anyway.

If you plan right you can hit quite a few of the sales. Web sites like shoplocal.com collect many of the ad circulars to stores like Wal-mart or Target so that you can see what they are putting on sale that day! If a store is not listed you can visit their website to see what sales they are having that day or, if it is a locally owned store, feel free to give them a call and see if they are having any door-busting sales.

Plan out your Black Friday shopping experience ahead of time and search the circulars so you know what you are going to get. Be prepared that you may only be able to get to one item before it is sold out.

Check the circulars for times and dates also. Some stores, such as Bass Pro will be open on Thanksgiving Day, giving a head start to those who make it out on Thursday. Bass Pro has a Thanksgiving Day sale, a Four Day Sale and a 5 Hour Black Friday Sale so be sure to search the right circular for the day, or days, you will be shopping.

Sales such as the Bass Pro sale enable you to spread some of your shopping out. If you attend Bass Pro on Thursday then you still have Friday morning open to make a run for some other stores.

Be sure to read what times each store is opening so that you can plan your times better. For instance, Wal-mart sales begin at 5 AM on Friday, so if you are able to quickly get in and get out you could possible make it over to Target for when they open at 6 AM.

By searching the circulars and making a plan you can get many of the things on your list and feel like you have done your best Black Friday shopping!
