If one will try to look into how these ages change, it will be noted that it is exactly the opposite of the sun-sign astrology. In the latter, the zodiac signs start from Aries down to Pisces while in the former, it is the other way around, meaning the transition for every 2000 years is from the Age of Pisces and will end in the Age of Aries before another cycle begins.
Astrology and the Age of Aquarius
Many interpretations are given to these ages. Some astrologers think of ages as one that coincides with the victory and downfall of civilization and culture while others see it as an event that will affect mankind.
Previously, astrologers specifically associate the Age of Aquarius to computers, flight, electricity, humanitarianism, democracy, modernization, astrology and freedom. In this time and age, however, the age is linked to alternative medicine and vegetarianism as well. Some also interpret it as something that has to do with veracity, philanthropy, perseverance, irresolution and humanity.
There are astrologers who think that the coming of a New Age (such as the change from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius) is affected by the so-called Orb of Influence or cuspal effect. This is the same reason behind why a New Age may come even before it arrives.
When did the Age of Aquarius begin?
The astrologer views on the New Age brought about conflict as to when the Age of Aquarius actually began. In the case of David Williams, he believed that the age started in 1884. For Marcia Moore and Mark Douglas, however, the discovery of electricity as well as the American and Industrial Revolutions brought about the Aquarian age. Vera Reid, another astrologer, takes the same view as those of other experts in this science, saying that the Age of Aquarius starts at that instance when people take charge of what is happening on Earth.
Some other astrologers interpreted the start of the Age of Aquarius in a variety of ways. Medieval astrology proponent, Robert Zoller, says that the age is a world where power-driven individuals will secretly seek absolute power to rule other people. This is in contrary to the Age of Pisces where religion was so important for the masses.
Other people have their own take on the Age of Aquarius. According to David Weitzman, the artist behind KA Gold Jewelry, " This Golden Age is destined to synthesize all religious regimes and free the minds of ignorance and delusion. Each human being will begin his or her individual journey within, and strive to become the new race of super conscious humans awakening seekers of Truth and the eternal Spirit , healing peoples of many tongues and nations in the process."
In all of these various interpretations and views about the Age of Aquarius, there is one thing sure: change will take place. Astrology, together with other mystical ways to understand and interpret things will soon fuse in with spiritual beliefs.
