Aged Garlic Extract Used in Hair Care Products
Shampoos and Conditioners Now Use Garlic Extract for Healthy Hair Treatment
Aged garlic extract, basically a more potent, highly beneficial form of garlic, has been significantly studied and well-documented. A number of aged garlic extract products already reside in health food and nutrition stores. But while one may normally associate such items with capsules or liquids to be taken internally, you may not expect to find it as a topical solution.
Not just food for the body, garlic is also an important food for hair. In the past, Native Americans and other cultures would rub garlic into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.
As civilization has progressed and advanced, we now find ourselves using aged garlic extract as an ingredient in shampoos. The powerful medicinal qualities of the plant extract are absorbed by the skin and tissues of the body. Applied to the scalp, the addition of garlic extract in shampoo helps to keep hair strong, preventing breakage and hair loss, while adding significant body and shine. For those with dry hair or itchy scalps, the garlic extract shampoos also provide relief from the irritating symptoms.
In essence, the aged garlic extract serves as a topical rejuvenator, removing and destroying harmful toxins and stimulating blood circulation, important in the scalp for proper hair care and growth. Many naturally organic, herbal remedies for hair growth and treatment have also included garlic extract, as it has sometimes been shown to help prevent hair loss.
You might be a little wary of using garlic based shampoos and conditioners in your hair, as garlic is often associated with a strong aroma, and while it may make a person hungry, it is obviously not an alluring perfume or cologne. Thankfully, as garlic ages, it loses its strong scent, and you will find that most shampoos and conditioners containing the extract are advertised as unscented. Thus, you receive the superb benefits of garlic without the accompanying odor.
Hot oil treatments and garlic extract based nail conditioners are also available for purchase. You can find a selection of garlic extract based shampoos, conditioners and other products on Amazon.com, and in many health and nutrition stores.
