In related pet news, the MSPCA will be holding lobby workshops across the state to explain the legislative process and how you can use your voice to make a difference for animals.

The agency will hold a Bark Fur Art reception April 28, 6-9 p.m. at the Student Life Gallery, Massachusetts College of Art, 621 Huntington Avenue in Boston. The free event is an animal-friendly gallery show that raises money through art sales to benefit the Boston MSPCA and local artists. The show will be April 25-30, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., open daily where there will be food, drinks, and desserts donated from local restaurants. A representative from the MSPCA will be attending to talk about the animal shelter and to answer questions and artwork will be for sale and cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted.
The agency's Animal Tales Gala takes place May 5, 6-9:30 p.m. at the WGBH Studios in Brighton.

Also in Massachusetts, earlier this year Governor Deval Patrick signed a Pet Trust Bill which allows for the creation of an enforceable pet trust to provide for the care of one or more animals if the trust's creator becomes incapacitated or dies.
