A Plaxico Burress return to the NFL is likely in 2011 (if there is a season this coming fall). What jersey he will be wearing has yet to be determined.

WFAN is reporting that Plax's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stated on Showtime's Inside the NFL program (airing this Thursday) that Burress "will be playing" in the NFL once the former New York Giants wide receiver is released from prison. The WFAN website quotes Rosenhaus as saying "I am not a big advocate of making predictions on teams because so much can change, but I am not afraid to make the following prediction: Plaxico Burress will be playing in 2011. And he will play very well. It will be a very happy ending to a very tough, tough story for him."

The New York Giants front office, specifically team general manager Jerry Reese, has not ruled out a Burress return to the Giants this summer. Team officials have also refused to state that Burress will definitely be signed by the team.

Right now, any talk about bringing Burress back to the Giants is just that, talk. If the NFL labor dispute is not settled in the next month, the players will likely be locked out before Burress is once again a free man. Once the dispute has been settled, the Giants must first decide on players such as wide receiver Steve Smith, who becomes a free agent this spring.
