Main Product Features
I decided back in 2006 to purchase this guitar, as I was looking for a cheap priced guitar that would deliver a deep, booming sound. And I also enjoyed the look of the Les Paul. The Agile AL-2000 features a Les Paul-esq body-unless you're a Gibson Les Paul enthusiast, you probably won't be able to tell much of a difference between the Agile AL-2000 and a Les Paul. The AL-2000 comes in a variety of finishes, from Root Beer to Silverburst. Considering the price of the guitar, the quality of the paint job is superb.
The AL-2000 features the standard two volume and tone controls. The knobs are either colored black or gold, depending on the color of the guitar, and there is a 3-way pickup selector. Every AL-2000 comes with a Maple top, and a solid Mahogany arch top body. The neck, unlike many guitars in this price range, is set-in, and there are 22 jumbo frets. To top it off, the guitar comes standard with Grover Die Cast tuners, known for their excellent ability to stay in tune.
So how does it sound? Well, the AL-2000, with its ceramic humbucker pickups, set-in neck and solid Mahogany body, delivers a very powerful sound. Notes are sustained longer than on many guitars, although not quite as long as on a significantly higher priced Gibson. The tone is good, especially considering the price. One piece of advice is to get the guitar properly set-up, as out of the box-even with D'Addario strings-the guitar doesn't sound that good. But this is only a $25 investment, and it instantly turns the guitar from being so-so to competing with Epiphone Les Pauls that are double the price.

Overall:
The Agile AL-2000 is a terrific starter guitar, with the main drawback being it doesn't sound that great out of the box. However, get it a good set-up and you're looking at a guitar that competes with guitars that are much more expensive.
