Not any more! Those days are long gone, and gray is great, but purple is even better when it comes to wild hair and good times. The grandkids are now shocked by you and there isn't anything you don't know about sex. You could write a book on it! The porch is gone, you buy on organic cookies or the ones with the most chocolate. Today adults age with grace, beauty and a never ending search for happiness and fun.
It takes a little work and a little knowledge to live the best life possible as you age. We just a little help for your friends and a lot of courage you can slide right on past 50 into 60 and beyond without missing a beat. The parties only get bigger and better and life is a lot more fun. Here's how to help age along the road to golden and silver victory.
1. Stay involved with other people and not just family. Family is the best thing you can have good times with, but there's nothing like a bunch of friends who are willing to take a walk on the wild side every so often. Plan a trip to Las Vegas, take in a wild show your family would never approve of and gamble away a little of their inheritance! Don't sit around waiting for something to happen. Go out and find it or drag others along with you.
2. Have a bigger, better and wilder party for each birthday after 50. Cake, ice cream, coffee, beer and a good steak dinner. Enjoy loud music and dance yourself silly. You'll be ready for the well earned sleep by 10pm so start early!
3. Exercise to stay in shape and keep your weight even for your best health. Exercise can be anything that requires you to move. Walk with friends, go on a scavenger hunt, garden for the whole neighborhood, go swimming with others at your favorite lake. Anything that gets you out and moving is good exercise for any age.
4. Use skin moisturizer. Not only will it help to control the aging process but it is just plain old good for your skin. It keeps it from drying out in very cold or very hot weather so you don't develop problems with cracking and pain. Use lipstick or chap stick if you are male for healthy lips. They are still kissable to someone!
5. Start your own business. Learn it from the ground up, find financing and make some good money. It will provide focus in your life and a reason to get up in the morning if you can think of something else to do. The older generations have better business sense and more to provide for their community.
6. Have Sex! Yes, it is good for you. It's healthy, it's good exercise and it's emotionally relaxing. Without the stigma's of past decades you can find yourself a good partner without jeopardizing your children's future with your hard earned money! Besides, it's fun.
7. Learn a new language. You can go online to
8. Accept your age and who you are because of it. You have gained so much experience in life. Some good and some bad, but it's all a part of who you are. Don't limit yourself to only your age group. Enjoy everyone you bring into your circle and let them all benefit from your life. Especially the funny parts.
So to all my friends reaching our so-called retirement years, here's to you! I am remarried for the 3rd and final time, starting a new business and living in outdoor paradise. I plan to go swimming in our local river just as soon as the snow stops and it warms up a bit. Have fun and don't try to stop the age process, just embrace it.www.word2word.com and learn a whole new language. Learn Spanish for those trips to the southern borders so you can get the best deals possible on merchandise. You'll make even more friends and be invited to join in easier in cultural events. It's good for the mind, keeps you sharp and makes you just a fun person.
