Wrinkles can happen for a few reasons. One is the skin produces less collagen which makes the skin less elastic. When this occurs the skin can start folding and wrinkling. Another reason for wrinkling is that the sebaceous glands produce less sebum which makes the skin drier. When the skin dries out it wrinkles also. Elastin can also decrease as the years go by which makes the skin less able to bounce back into from when stretched. Again wrinkles can show up.
Topical applications such as the ones that contain copper peptides can help restore collagen to the skin. Retinoids also increase collagen along with increasing elastin at the same times. Retinoids can also help increase sebum production too. There are facial creams that contain copper peptides and Retinoids. So there are some remedies for wrinkles besides surgical face lifts. Of course some people do use face lifts to get rid of wrinkles.
Dry skin can occur as people age due to the fact that sebum production slows down. Creams containing Retinoids can help this problem as we discussed in the remedies for wrinkles. People do not always consume the proper amounts of water which gives moisture to the skin from within. The skin dries out as a result. There is a lot to say for consuming the 6 to 8 glasses of water a day that is recommended. Some people just suffer from occasional mild dry skin which is easily solved by using a mild moisturizer on a regular basis.
Fines lines can start showing up out of no where as the years pass by. There are actually some very good firming creams and even line filler creams on the market today. If there are too many fine lines some people do opt for more drastic medical procedures such as the face lifts. But hopefully the new formula creams will do the trick.
One of the major skin problems that can occur that requires immediate medical attention is skin cancer. Most skin cancers have to be surgically removed and other forms of treatment given such as chemotherapy to totally cure the problem. Then the person has to be careful that it does not return. People should wear a good sunscreen when outside in the sun to help prevent skin cancer.
Just a few of the skin problems that happen during aging have been mentioned here. This guide should be helpful to people in improving how they take care of their skin for these problems. They may of course have other problems that occur. With a bit of research they can find remedies to these problems. Many advances are being made today in the area of skin care.

I'm 40, but I can easily pass for late 20's to early 30's due in part to Avon's Anew product, but MOSTLY....just plain old good genes. Great Article.
These are good suggestions for people who are beginning to see the effects of ageing.

I hate those little lines that are beginning to form around my eyes. I know this is the first place they start. I have been thinking about looking for a new cream for that area.
