Ahhh... A Nice Tight Fit

Glad Press'N Seal

jobythebay
I bought Glad Press'N Seal recently having remembered my friend showing me how great it works. The bottom line difference between Press'N Seal and Glad Cling Wrap is significant; however, the product is not without its problems.

How it is used:

Glad Press 'N Seal has Griptex technology, which is activated when press is applied. It can be used on plastic, paper, metal, wool and more. This product is made in the United States.

There is no trick to using this. I am told to lift the edge to start the roll - no problem. Pull the sheet up with the sealing side down - fine and then press firmly (It doesn't really have to be that firm - it is quite sticky.) it around the rim, of let's say, a bowl.

I use a lot of glass bowls and have found it very frustrating to have my Cling Wrap loose. Taking a plate of cookies somewhere has always been a nightmare. With Glad Press 'N Seal taking food in the car is easy.

Problems:

Glad Press 'N Seal is not without its problems. The packaging is not good. There are two round white plastic pieces on both ends showing me that I can turn these either way and the paper will come out. The paper is too sticky for that to be realistic.

In addition I have had these plastic things pop out. In addition to the addition, I have had the Press 'N Seal stuck to itself (You know what I mean!) and I had to pull and waste paper trying to fix the problem. Eventually I did and if I am careful that doesn't happen.

The Price

The price is high -there is no doubt about it. You'll get 70 square feet for about $4.00. You can buy 200 feet for less money of the regular Cling Wrap.

What I think:
I will continue buying Glad Press 'N Seal because for some items it is just perfect. The cost makes it a product that most can't use on a daily basis for ordinary things (like wrapping kids' lunches) which you can just use a bit more regular wrap for.
