I have lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 12 yrs. old. I have found some items that make life a little easier. I use these items daily so this is from my own experience.
Daily living can be a little easier with:
- A dressing stick-this is a dowel rod with 2 hooks that you can use to help pull up your pants or push your socks off.
- A sock aid-this a plastic item that you out your sock on then put your foot in the sock and pull the rope handles to put your sock on your foot. No more struggling to reach your feet.
- A long handles shoe horn- Used to help put your shoes on so you are not bending.
- A toilet aid- this is a metal handle article that has a triangular head that holds a baby wipe and used to help with person hygiene.
- A Bath tub seat- the small bench type seat is great to sit on and get washed. It saves straining to wash your legs and the pain of standing in the shower.
- A Pampered Chef bottle opener is a great tool for in the kitchen. It opens pop bottles and pop tabs as well as breaking the seal of jars to make getting the lids off. This item has a magnet on the back of it and is nice to have on the refrigerator
- Lids Off- an electrical appliance that will unscrew lids for you. These came out about 3 yrs ago.
- Tylenol arthritis strength- a must to keep the pain down. Easy off lid makes it easy for the hands.
All these items can be purchased on line or some of them at your local Wal mart. You may also talk to your doctor to see if they know of any more items like these to help make your life easier.
These items are all valuable to having a normal life and saving yourself some pain.
I am so glad to have found these items to help make my day a little easier
